Overview

SATERASER4 is a standalone hardware-based drive eraser designed for secure data sanitization of SATA hard drives and solid-state drives. It is used by IT departments, data centers, and compliance-driven organizations that require verifiable data destruction before device reuse, resale, or disposal.

The unit supports simultaneous erasure of up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives, operating independently without requiring a host computer. This eliminates exposure risks associated with software-based wiping and ensures controlled, isolated sanitization workflows.

It supports multiple industry-recognized erase methods including Quick Erase, Single-pass overwrite, multi-pass overwrite (DoD 5220.22-M), Secure Erase, and Enhanced Secure Erase, allowing alignment with different compliance and security policies. Erase performance can reach approximately 14 GB/min per bay, depending on drive type and mode.

The device is deployed in enterprise IT asset disposition (ITAD), data center decommissioning, government environments, healthcare, and finance sectors, where secure data handling and auditability are critical.

Integration includes an onboard LCD interface with push-button controls for standalone operation and an RS-232 serial port for printing erase logs and compliance records. It also supports optional USB connection for limited host interaction when required.

It is not suitable for NVMe drives (without adapters), high-volume automated rack-scale sanitization systems, or environments requiring network-based remote wiping.
