The OWC OWCUS4V2EXP1MT02 is a high-performance external solid state drive from the Express 1M2 80G series, engineered for workloads requiring near-internal NVMe performance over an external interface. It is deployed by media professionals, developers, and IT users who need extremely fast portable storage for large datasets, high-resolution video, and compute-intensive workflows. The device addresses limitations of traditional USB storage by leveraging next-generation USB4 bandwidth and NVMe architecture.

The drive utilizes an 80 Gb/s USB4 interface over USB-C, delivering sequential transfer speeds up to approximately 6000 MB/s, approaching internal PCIe SSD performance levels. It is designed to support demanding use cases such as 8K video editing, AI/ML datasets, and real-time content workflows where sustained throughput and low latency are required.
