Overview

The Ubiquiti UNAS-PRO-8 is a rackmount network-attached storage (NAS) appliance designed for centralized data storage, backup, and file sharing within UniFi-managed environments. It is deployed by IT administrators, network engineers, and SMB infrastructure teams requiring a unified storage platform that integrates directly into the UniFi ecosystem. The system addresses the need for scalable on-premise storage with simplified management and high-speed network connectivity.

The appliance provides 8 hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays, allowing flexible storage configurations using SATA HDDs or SSDs. It supports RAID configurations for redundancy and data protection, enabling deployments that balance capacity and fault tolerance. Storage scalability depends on installed drives, making it adaptable for small to mid-sized data environments.

For connectivity, the UNAS-PRO-8 includes 10 GbE SFP+ uplink alongside 1 GbE RJ-45 Ethernet, enabling integration into both high-speed aggregation networks and standard LAN environments. This dual-network capability allows it to serve as a high-throughput storage node for backup systems, shared storage pools, or application data repositories.
