Under the hood, the DS925+ features a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor and 4GB of DDR4 ECC memory, providing the computational overhead required for concurrent multi-user access and intensive data protection tasks. A significant evolution from its predecessors, it integrates dual 2.5GbE ports as standard, enabling faster network throughput without the need for additional expansion cards. The system includes two built-in M.2 NVMe slots, which can be utilized for SSD caching or to create high-speed all-flash storage pools for latency-sensitive databases. For expanding capacity, the DS925+ utilizes a modern USB-C expansion interface to connect with the DX525 unit, supporting up to nine drives in total. Managed by the intuitive DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, it offers enterprise-grade features such as Btrfs snapshots, Active Backup for Business, and advanced surveillance capabilities via Surveillance Station.
